The World Nano Foundation, World Science Aid and investment firm Enabling Tech Capital have joined the supporters of the Cambridge Independent’s Entrepreneurial Science and Technology Awards.

Paul Stannard, chairman of the World Nano Foundation (WNF) and World Science Aid, said: “These organisations support entrepreneurs to commercialise innovation globally, whether that is biotech, nanotech or artificial intelligence.

“The WNF, a not-for-profit charitable organisation, will support the commercialisation of game-changing technology for anything that has a potential global impact.

“We mentor entrepreneurs when they go from the incubator to the commercial market. We help them take their product to market.

“Cambridge has had more Nobel Prize winners for innovation than almost any city in the world over the last 100 years.

“Innovation and fairness seem to be at the heart of what Cambridge stands for, so we are pleased to be involved in such a project in such an important location for innovation.

“The world needs to be more sustainable and the only way we are going to do that in the health industry and the environment is through innovation and technology, not through infrastructure. We are so pleased to be one of the sponsors.”

Paul Sheedy, CEO of investment company Enabling Tech Capital LLP, added: “We have a global interest in companies that are about to commercialise what they do and we are very much interested in innovation hubs like Cambridge.

“We are very pleased to have our investment vehicle sponsoring and supporting such a prestigious event. We hope that we find some companies in Cambridge that have global ambitions that we can support through investment.”

The Cambridge Independent’s new Entrepreneurial Science and Technology Awards are open to entries from start-ups and scale-ups across five categories:
