login The Apocalypse: An Update - Signpost 2 Grow - Signpost 2 Grow

The world faces increasing pressures from social exclusion, inequality, environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity and climate change.

Projecting these trends forwards and a cascade of risks that we face over the next few decades could easily trigger economic, environmental and social collapse. How do these trends link together and reinforce each other? What types of cascading risks could really damage our societies first? However, the flip side of these risks represent significant opportunities for us to address these challenges and unlock an energy and financial transition to a more prosperous future.

The current discussions and debates around the form of these transitions face a significant political barrier associated with short termism but there are glimmers of hope that the world is at a turning point that will create sustainable prosperity for all.
