ACAS are holding this training event for a chance to attend a Mock Employment Tribunal will give you a first hand opportunity to see how an Employment Tribunal works in a safe environment without the risk of the real thing.
This session gives delegates the opportunity to watch an unfair dismissal Employment Tribunal scenario take place and to see how decisions are made.
Last year there were 61308 claims to Employment Tribunal. According to the Gibbons Review of Dispute Resolution the estimated cost to employers associated with defending an Employment Tribunal claim is currently in the region of £9,000. That was in 2007 and does not include time lost by managers preparing for and attending the Tribunal hearing itself.
Appearing at an Employment Tribunal can be a daunting proposition for any employer.
This event promises to be an informative, enjoyable, myth-busting and interactive day for all delegates. The morning session will give you the opportunity (in a safe environment) to see how a Tribunal works; to watch a mock tribunal take place and to see how decisions are made.
Gotelees led by senior partner and Part Time Judge Brian Morron will lead you through the role play scenario. Brian and his team of expert employment lawyers bring much experience of dealing with Employment Tribunal claims, and attendees will be able to put questions to the professionals involved during the course of the event. The advocates will be barristers from East Anglian Chambers and the event will replicate as closely as possible a real Tribunal hearing.
