Economic development company, Opportunity Peterborough, has launched a new grant fund and support programme for businesses and communities based in rural Peterborough and Rutland. The project is designed to grow the local economies by providing grant funding and support to develop existing organisations and help new enterprises start-up.

The LEADER programme is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) and is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

The LEADER programme itself aims to improve the competitiveness and diversification of the farming and forestry industry, whilst supporting small businesses, creating growth and boosting productivity in rural communities.

Book onto their launch event this February at Peakirk Village Hall to find out more about the funding and if you’re eligible.
