A free event hosted by INVEST Essex & Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership, sponsored by Lloyds Bank.

The team will be presenting a series of case studies to the business community showcasing Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and Essex companies who develop technologies in use of data, communication between different systems, and materials science, discussing their thought processes, their journey and lessons learned from it. This plays into regional plans for the creation of an industry-driven High-Value Design Group for the East of England.

Engineering companies are increasingly redefining themselves away from making specific products or product ranges for particular sectors, but instead looking more closely at what their core expertise is, whether it’s in use of data, communication between different elements of a system, materials science or something else and using this expertise to develop solutions for a new business sector. In today’s world, companies need to be alert to new opportunities and carefully consider whether their unique area of competence could be translated elsewhere.

The event aims to inform companies about using their self-developed technology and expertise to access new sectors. As well as time for high-quality networking with peers there will be chance to hear from speakers from high profile engineering, electronics and technology companies.
