Event Format

After a quick welcome, we’ll go round the room- you will have up to a minute to introduce yourself and your business to everyone.

Share what you do and what you’re looking for- why not bring a product, prop or pictures to bring your business or idea to life! Don’t forget to bring lots of business cards.

If you’ve got a business issue or a challenge you’re working on, why not flag it here and ask for ideas during the networking. FSB lobby and campaign on business issues and we may be able to help, so let the organisers know what’s affecting you.

For this first event we have invited Naomi Morgan, owner of the Rutland Cake Company to give us a brief spotlight talk to provide inspiration and insight. Naomi has had a fascinating journey to get to where she is today with a beautiful café- built by Naomi and family!- and a thriving business employing seven people.

Naomi will share how and why she came to start her business, her biggest challenges and greatest rewards, her tips and advice on where she’s found support in the local community. You might find some ideas or inspiration, ask Naomi a question, or just enjoy hearing a little more about a fellow Rutland business.

FSBConnect welcomes everyone from the community, whether you’re a business, a student or a startup- so long as you’re interested in business you’re welcome to come along and join.
