Crowdfunding is now being used to fund a wide range of entrepreneurial ventures. Recently life science companies such as Axol Bioscience and Biotechspert have used the platform to raise money successfully.

Up to now, however, life sciences companies utilising crowdfunding have typically been ones with technologies or platforms, but could biotech companies use crowdfunding to raise money successfully.
